Furniture World News Desk

Minneapolis, MN – Room & Board has released its 2025 Impact Report, detailing progress in areas including sustainability, product development, employee ownership, and community engagement.

Key findings: The company recertified as a B Corp, increasing its score from 80.6 to 112.7, credited in part to its transition to 100% employee ownership in 2024. Room & Board introduced Renew, a chair made from 99% bio-based materials, and expanded the use of recycled, reclaimed, and bio-based materials across its product lines.

Room & Board reported that 82% of its packaging was recyclable by the end of 2025. The company has set a target of reaching 90% recyclable packaging by 2030. Through its Urban Wood Project, the company diverted the equivalent of 365 trees from the waste stream by using reclaimed wood for furniture production.

The report notes that 68% of the company’s electricity came from renewable sources in 2025, and Room & Board continues efforts toward achieving 100% renewable electricity by 2030. The company also stated that it diverted 87.8% of operational waste from landfills and introduced plastic recycling in all delivery centers.

By the end of 2025, Room & Board sourced 100% of its wood from North American forests and certified suppliers.
